Every year, awards are given out to club members for such honors as Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Skier, and the Broken Ski Award which is given to the skier with the worst luck.  This is kind of like the Darwin Award of waterskiing.  Below is a running list of candidates for the Broken Ski award.  If you have any additions, be sure to email me.

2006-2007 Broken Ski nominees:  (So far I do not have a nomination!)

1.  Newbie Dennis Morris... for running over Chuck Compher's handle...  Personally, I think Chuck should be co-nominted!

2.  Woodie...  The 1st non-human nominee...  Woodie is Cody Welchel's Jack Russell Terrier...  The dog is very hyper...  I thought it a bad idea to take the dog in the boat during Cody's wakeboarding run... Well...  Woodie would not lay down and had to prop himself up on the  side of the boat (port side).  Kyle Mayer was driving, took a hard right and sends Woodie flying into the lake...  It was as good as any barefooting or slalom wipeout I've ever seen...  The dog's legs were cart-wheeling all over the place...  It took me a while to stop laughing enough to tell Kyle to go pick the dog up out of the lake....

3.  Scott Smith for dinging not one, but THREE props this season!
